There hasn’t been a good reboot from Disney yet. The Mandalorian The Child Baby Yoda Star Wars Shirt don’t know why people think that this one would work when none of theirs have so far. I’d rather they funnel those resources into thought-out new concepts instead of just rehashing what’s already been done well. There’s no reason not to as long as they can come to an agreement with the creator and hopefully get him on board to direct/produce so he can retool his original ideas and push them farther ahead with a fresh lease on the series. We might even get some of the spin-offs he had planned too!

The biggest selling point for Disney+ among people who don’t have kids is that it’s a nostalgia machine. It’s got Gargoyles, Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, and Chip and Dale’s Rescue Rangers. That’s a strong draw. Gargoyles just happen to come out on top. God damn does that series need it? Fuck that tax offset. Someone has to figure out a way to get the series out of limbo. The creators actively want to make the show too. I can’t think of a single reboot that doesn’t change the story and generally ruin what was. Reanimates if you must, but leave it alone otherwise. You don’t need to reboot masterpieces. I never watched Spectacular Spider-Man. I watched the original animated series which I loved. It got me into comic books. I hear Spectacular was good. I watched a bit of Filler House, and while it appeared there was an attempt, I didn’t like DJ’s trajectory and how she was kissing a new love interest five minutes after her husband had died. Like, I get it… she’s going to find new love, but the children don’t even acknowledge their father other than a 3-minute scene in the pilot.
