I also found out that there is a lesson plan developed in coordination with the Tulsa Race Massacre Cenntenial Commission and the Oklahoma Department of Education.

Does anyone know what the reasoning is behind the cover-up? Did the white people feel ashamed of it even then or is there some other reason? Seems like if they felt justified then they would frame it as a “lesson” of some kind and make sure future generations knew all about it. It’s called white-washing. Education curriculums will leave things like Tulsa out in an attempt to make certain history/people seem not so bad. It’s the same reason certain regions teach that the civil war was about states’ rights.
