I tend to disagree with everyone who’s saying that Martin Garrix is switching sounds. He has been releasing non stop hits with Byte, Pizza, and forever. These all three different genres of music. But yet sounds like Garrix music so rather than being a dick about the Pretty Heart Truck I Love Trucker Shirt. So Far Away is an amazing song and yes I do agree here Ellie Goulding’s version could have been better. But there’s not much we can do about it. It’s still an amazing song with beautiful lyrics and a wonderful vibe. Let’s enjoy music and not be negative about it. In the official video, many people have started this stupid argument that he’s switching sounds.

Oh yeah, that’s just completely wrong. He’s releasing a festival song about every time he releases a poppy song, and I’m completely ok with that. He didn’t sell out like Guetta or some other big names did, and I frankly don’t see him ever doing that. The second half really misses Ellie. Nothing against Romy but she doesn’t bring the emotion that Ellie had in the original. And we all know the Pretty Heart Truck I Love Trucker Shirt. This would’ve brought more attention to her right now but either way, I know about Ellie Goulding and her album now. I understand Ellie has a contract and all that but if she really wanted to she could’ve forced her label to keep her on the track.

When I read all of the hype I wasn’t too fussed but hearing the track it’s a little sad all of this happened. Whilst the female vocal line is good as it has been released, it sounds absolutely perfect for Ellie’s voice. Not much can be done now though! It’s already been said, but it sounds the STBL. And I wasn’t even sure David Guetta was even on the track. The Pretty Heart Truck I Love Trucker Shirt was great. But I’m sure I’ll hear it anyway and there are worse songs that could be popular. I’m a big Ellie fan and she would have pushed this good song to greatness with the mainstream. Don’t Leave will be her best EDM song ever and I’m very ok with that!
