People add stuff to their wish list and you either buy something from that or whatever else you think they’d like. For the kids, each family contributes to a pool of cash and we buy each child one or two larger / more expensive presents instead of 50 small/cheap presents from each adult. I also have private wish lists on Amazon that I’ve added to for each person I buy for. More specifically for my kids and the things they have said they want or things I figure they would like. It helps me not forget. Yes, this is great for kids. In the store and kid sees something they really ready want? Tell them maybe they’ll get it for Christmas or Birthday, etc. Even hand them your phone so they can take the picture themselves.
