In general, the older a post is the more exposure it gets and as a result, it will receive more upvotes. That is why highlights from games on Thursday usually get more upvotes on average since the Thursday highlight thread remains as a sticky for a longer period of time. Even highlights from the beginning of the day on Sunday get more upvotes than the ones that happen later on Sunday. Another problem is that even if two posts were made at the same time in different comment chains, the one made on the comment chain closer to the top of the page will generally receive more upvotes.

I think the way the highlights threads are organized with separate top-level comments for separate games is great for finding highlights. However, if you want an accurate top 10 lists we would need to take the top 3, 4, 5, etc. best highlights from each game after the week has finished, pool them all together. Everyone was posting the same highlights and the format they used was awful. Everyone was posting the NFL site videos but not like u/Exnihilation does with the lower quality versions.
