I think your writing is excellent. It’s a touch overwrought here and there, in my opinion, but it’s quite possibly a matter of taste. That’s a compelling way to express the complexity inherent in this mystery while being charitable to competing possibilities. Also, for what it’s worth. I thought the whole first book about her childhood and career details were way more than we needed to know. Snip snip. I could have read more about the theories as to “whodunnit” and less about her parents/childhood. If it were a novel/novella length book I would welcome that, though.
