I think the Jason figure, not exactly the character, is a Nice Krueger Voorhees 20 Let Us Take Stab At It Shirt. Like a lot of people get the weapons wrong or don’t know anything about him. But they know the name, know the hockey mask. And a lot of people who don’t even know the movie associate the day Friday the 13th with some Jason like figure. I’ve found that with a lot of “iconic” horror figures. They almost take on an urban-legend-esque quality where people know almost nothing about the actual movies. And seem to invent facts on the spot. It’s actually really interesting.

As far as a pop culture I gotta go with a Nice Krueger Voorhees 20 Let Us Take Stab At It Shirt. Freddy at his height of popularity was appearing on MTV, in music videos, on talk shows, etc. Around the time of Nightmares 3&4, he was a genuine pop culture phenomenon. I can see arguments for any of them long term, but at his most popular Freddy reached highs the other two can’t top. Freddy and Jason were huge in the 80s and 90s. They had toys and props galore. Hell, I remember grocery stores selling the hockey masks and even the Freddy glove around Halloween time.
