A lot of cops start as dispatchers. The cop mentality starts there. Listening to other cops and just being in the agency. I watched a lot of people have pretty drastic changes in personality. From when they first started to when they got sponsored. The family member was a Move Over Girls Let This Old Lady Show You How To Be A Dispatcher Vintage Shirt. So angry. Everyone was trash or a thug or scum. Was terminated in a similar fashion. I’m glad I switched careers when I did. When all you deal with are people at their worst and others on the worst days of their lives, it can really skew your view on society.

This. It may be more expensive, but police officers need to have mandated time off after being involved in different situations. And it should not be optional. When you constantly go out and see the worst situations from the worst people for 8 hours a day every day. It’s no wonder you see everyone as an enemy. And I’m not defending cops, so much as trying to find a Move Over Girls Let This Old Lady Show You How To Be A Dispatcher Vintage Shirt But also try to help them. And for god, sakes stop militarizing them, that’s just poisoning the culture. Mental health hazards are still job hazards and need to be dealt with.
