I don’t get why people shit on The Lost World. It was a great film, and I grew up with it like I did the first one. Even with the Funny Dinosaur T-rex I’m Ready To Crush First Grade Shirt. But it was certainly a great film in its own right. Especially when trying to re-capture the wonder we all felt the first time around. Except the T-Rex roars were ass. I hated that so much when I was watching it a few weeks ago. Eh? I love the T-rex roars in TLW! They’re different, but in my opinion, they’re better than JP. Really? I still think that the second roar after Rexy breaks out is the best sound on Earth, followed by the one in the visitor’s center. You could feel the power in them, though I’ve been watching that movie since I can first remember.

The Lost World is a tough one for me because, as you pointed out, there’s a whole lot to like about it. But I was such a massive Jurassic Park fan that watching The Lost World was the very first time I had that horrible fanboy sense of “This is not what I expected to see”. I agree that Roland is a GREAT Funny Dinosaur T-rex I’m Ready To Crush First Grade Shirt. Even more so in some of the deleted scenes. Yes, the Lost World theme is criminally underrated. It was great to hear even that tiny tease of it used in Jurassic World. I wish they would have taken it further. And people can question the logic used by certain characters as much as they want, but all the Jurassic Park movies would be very short if human beings made smart decisions.

The “hero” shot of Blue running back into battle to help the T-Rex uses a touch of the Lost World theme unless I’m misremembering. It was definitely a snippet of that theme, which I thought was a nice touch. I can’t say I can figure any reason why it’s there, other than to sound cool and make that final rush more badass. But it’s yet another nice Funny Dinosaur T-rex I’m Ready To Crush First Grade Shirt. I was thinking about all this some time ago, and I tried to fit in some eco vs capitalist philosophy or something like that. As you said, it’s just proof of how good intentions can backfire. Or maybe it’s another proof of chaos theory. I pretty much agree with everything else you wrote; love your take on the gym scene.
