They’re huge babies but also super protective. The latter is where their Neanderthal gene resides. But I’m sure you know this. I have a Doberman beagle mix and he lays crazy like this too!

I have a German pinscher. Highly recommend! They are all the lovability and goofiness of a Doberman in a 40-pound package! From what I understand, they were a working dog like a German Shepard that Louis Doberman used to make the breed now known as the Doberman, they look identical but are about a half/third the size. I’ve never owned a Doberman I’m 97% Sure You Don’t Like Me But I’m 100% Sure I Don’t Care Shirt. If not, you get a squishy, miserable Dobie who’s teeth rattle because they are so cold and uncomfortable. LOL, They are awesome dogs and just the biggest babies. He was such a goofy dog and so sweet. He always let me and my brother and our little cousins climb and sleep on him and loved to run around in our backyard with us.

It’s all that you imagine it can be. We have a big yard with plenty of squirrels, and my doors spend their days chasing those squirrels. I grew up with a Doberman and now my parents have one again. I love them so much. It is so impossible to imagine their 80-something pound heifer was ever this tiny, esp as they adopted her as a 1-year-old. So adorable! I’m probably weird, but I love puppy breath and I can’t practically smell it from this picture.
