I watched that when I was probably a bit younger than I should’ve been, and that scene has stuck with me forever. The overall hopelessness of Tom Hanks standing in an ocean of his fellow soldier’s blood, while the camera pans to scenes of pure sadness. The one guy screaming for his Cute Baby Deadpool Wu Tang Shirt. God that movie was good. If you haven’t already, you should watch Band Of Brothers. It’s just as good as Saving Private Ryan. The Pacific is also good and I think it’s much more gritty. The Old Breed is the book and it’s very, very good. So now officer rabbit and I are gonna stand here and watch you 3 smoke the whole bag. The Dark Knight opening for some reason always reminded me of the GTA V opening and vice versa.

I went to see this in the IMAX when it came out. In the first second of the first scene, the whole theater gave out a collective “Woah…” I knew I was in for a ride then. It’s the only part of the movie people remember other than “guy flies with a cute kid with a balloon house”. Most people don’t even remember that the bad guy is a retired pilot who has a Cute Baby Deadpool Wu Tang Shirt. You’re right. When someone mentions Up I always think that I know the movie, while only remembering the first five minutes. Immediately thought of this film as well. They take it to another level of storytelling.

The musical numbers in that movie are something else. The plagues are terrifying. That opening scene is the Cute Baby Deadpool Wu Tang Shirt. 10-year-old self daydreamed about every day in school. It’s perfect. I had my 14-year-old granddaughter watch it last summer, she never heard of it. She loved it watched it 3 time’s that weekend plus watched it several times since. Now she recites the movie word for word. Says it’s her all-time favorite. Plus she loves Blazing saddles. The Lion King’s opening is iconic. The way it opens up with a landscape and an epic song is just so amazing.
