Something I also didn’t expect is that it has been tricky finding appropriate playmates for him because of his medium size. Other puppies his age are either too big or too small. So he either topples them over or gets toppled over.

The positives are definitely there though. He’s got a lovely temperament, definitely not ON and intense like some Tollers are (which makes them amazing at dog sports) but it suits us well. He loves his walks in the forest with me but will settle down with chew and sleep in his crate. He’s very trainable— today we confirmed that he is indeed potty trained!! And it helps that everyone we meet remarks on how beautiful he is. And how dreamy his eyes are (they literally say that lol). I think the breed is great for a Never Underestimate An Old A Chihuahua Vintage Shirt. And regularly goes on hikes/walks/runs. Bonus points for dog experience or even better, dog sports experience. We’re adjusting to life well and trying to give him all the best but it hasn’t been easy.
