The first five tracks of this album hit you HARD. It’s a killer song right after another one. It seems like a lot of people’s favorites from UV are within those first five tracks. Brooklyn Baby is definitely my fav. Dude, yes. The arc from Cruel World to Sad Girl, for me, is what makes the whole album. They build together so well that I mostly don’t listen to these songs on their own anymore. It’s like she’s throat-punching me for thirty minutes. Exactly!! I kind of think of those tracks as an Official Peace Love Sunshine Weed Sunflower Shirt. Sometimes instead of the whole album, I just listen to those first 5 then choose one random song from the rest of UV to finish. Brooklyn Baby is goddamn incredible and one of her best songs in a frankly outstanding discography.

NFR, is, in my opinion, the best album. I won’t talk song by song, but as an album, it’s the most consistent and well-tuned piece she’s out. There’s not a single song I skip, not a single song I don’t love. It flows really well, nothing is filler, and it’s just… Impeccable. Thematically it’s the Official Peace Love Sunshine Weed Sunflower Shirt. And I think it makes the best use of her talents out of any of her albums. Off to the races will always get me pumped. Ultraviolence will always blow my mind. Nothing will feel as good to lie down at the beach and relax as Honeymoon. But NFR… NFR as a whole just rocked my world. Agree. Ultraviolence used to be my favorite album of hers until NFR came along. It just showcases how far she’s come as a songwriter and artist in general.

We’ll have to agree to disagree I think. I just wasn’t impressed at all with NFR, I honestly find it quite dull compared to her first three albums. My main issue with this album is the Official Peace Love Sunshine Weed Sunflower Shirt. I just find the whole record to have this sort of dry/flat sound which I’m not a fan of. For someone that was honestly impressed with Jack Antonoff’s work on both Lorde and St. Vincent’s record, his work on NFR couldn’t be more subpar to me. The only song that I find to honestly be refreshing or musically forward for Lana on this album would be Venice Bitch. The rest of the album sounds like réchauffé for me. You didn’t want to go on describing how you feel track by track, that’s fair. But let me explain what I don’t like one most track.
