My headcanon is saving the fair lady and thus Solaire and then tag teaming Gwyn with him while he sacrifices himself for the flame and you in turn fight off the abyss. If you go to the door between Lilith and demon ruins and use poison mist you can save him without wasting humanity ad the mist kills the Sunshine maggot. Entirely outside of my head-canon where he walks off into the Dungeons Dragons Sunflower You Are My Sunshine Shirt. But it’s a really great comic and you deserve serious kudos! Oh yeah, this is definitely not my headcanon either. But it definitely is what happened in my first playthrough. Damn it, I wish on the part where it repeated you changed it to where you save him and fight Gwyn together.

NPCs who want to kill you will stay at the spot you hit them and will NOT progress in their storyline. You can proceed through this area and reach the Dungeons Dragons Sunflower You Are My Sunshine Shirt. Solaire will not be there. Then you can simply kill the required Chaos-Bug and request absolution from Oswald of Carim. Solaire will not go insane, and his story can proceed normally. I like how there’s an entire section to help him. But the daughter’s of chaos route allows me to save two people. The fair Lady and Solaire. I might farm some souls in the Abyss in this playthrough and save her.
