I try to remind myself on a daily basis and I think everyone should too…Social Media isn’t real life. Go outside and speak to people and you’ll see that pretty quick. Yeah, what is trending on twitter is a terrible gauge for what’s actually going on in the real world. Nobody cares about canceling JRE. Yeah, what is trending on twitter is a terrible gauge for what’s actually going on in the Awesome All American Boy Independence Day Shirt. I’ve been working nights for the last 2 weeks and decided to try out Twitter… Jesus what a negative place. Deleted it pretty quickly. There doesn’t seem to be any balancing force- just all negativity all the time. I’ve noticed a lot of this creeping into the world around me for certain.

I remember Killer Mike saying when he was on that a lot of people gave him shit for going on JRE. Amplify that sentiment and Joe become persona non grata and it becomes risky for guests to go on his show. That’s been a risk for several years now but the hysteria has never been as pitched as it is right now. No one standing up to the mob anymore. I just worry about the future of comedy and entertainment. The plus side is it feels like cancel culture, for the most part, isn’t taken seriously…
