There it is, full confirmation that she isn’t a cat. Cats meow for humans. Cats meow at her. She is human. If this post is true, I severely overestimated human intelligence. The level of cringe is astonishing. OP, your girlfriend is an Awesome Kind People Are My Kinda People Shirt. I can’t wrap my head around how somebody could believe that they can convince somebody they’re a cat. She doesn’t believe that she is a cat, she thinks that people will think she’s cool for being different. She thinks she can convince others that she’s a cat, because of her echo chamber. This is actually pretty mild. I’ve gone down the YouTube rabbit hole of otherkin videos and I did not come back out the same way.

Some people believe it so deeply and it’s sometimes painful to watch. Had an ex-friend go down the otherkin route. We still moved in similar circles and I kept tabs on them due to them having abused me. And needing to be aware if they were going to be involved in places I would be. It was something else to even distantly observe. They were convinced that they had Starscream’s soul in them. Also went Cthulukin at one point I think? But at that point, they’d stopped hanging around in my Awesome Kind People Are My Kinda People Shirt. I don’t think it’s an intelligence thing, I definitely think it’s a mental thing and OP is kind for wanting to stay in contact to make sure she doesn’t have a mental break. I haven’t done any research into otherkin.

But in the Netflix show “Glow” there is a character who identifies as a wolf in a very similar manner. The way I saw it, her wolf persona created a safe place for her and allowed her to explore the world in a way that she felt secure, like putting on a set of armor. I know it’s just an Awesome Kind People Are My Kinda People Shirt. Maybe something happened to her? But the echo chamber definitely doesn’t help. Agree, it sounds like a coping mechanism. Covid’s been pretty hard on people; I could see this situation making an underlying desire come out. If she thought she was Napoleon or Jesus we wouldn’t be laughing at her. The Otherkin are a community of mentally ill people exacerbating each other’s mental illnesses.

Quality fabric! I was surprised at the weight of the cotton. I expected it to be thin (considering the price), instead it was a quality weight.

Bought it for my husband and his brother to match. Everyone loved it and they said they are very comfortable and will be wearing them again, but not at the same time.
