My little 8th-grade heart was so heartbroken I couldn’t bring myself to read the I’m That Crazy Girl Who Loves Pooh Bear A Lot Shirt of the series. But god damn I wish they did that. There are so many bad movies filled with wasted potential. The prequels as well. The fall of the republic is the basis of a great story. Lot’s of potential for GoT style intrigue. Dude made an exhaustive pitch for his version of the story and holy crap I’d kill so many people to see it done that way. And it kind of didn’t go well with audiences or critics when it came out. I’m aware that it has more of a cult following now. I do like it, but I always thought it could’ve been amazing.

I think it’s an incredibly balanced movie. A lot of the movies on this thread have a great first half or two thirds. Then sort of lose my interest towards the end. The story arc builds perfectly. The beginning is quiet and builds the setting, the middle is thrilling because of the romance. The end is then even more thrilling because of the shipwreck.
